C2PA metadata removal and Content Credentials
Updated
Content Credentials use the C2PA standard to associate provenance information with media, such as details about creation and editing. Credentials are not the same as a visible watermark, and their presence alone does not mean a file was AI-generated.

Embedded credentials and watermarks are different
A C2PA manifest can be stored with an asset, but provenance can also be associated with content through external records and soft bindings such as fingerprints or invisible watermarks. Removing an embedded manifest does not necessarily break every connection to an external credential. The official C2PA specification explains these mechanisms.
What the image cleaner can do
RasmiClean AI creates a new JPG, PNG or WebP export locally. It checks recognized embedded metadata blocks, including supported C2PA-related structures, rather than copying the original file wholesale.
- Select the image cleaner and add a supported static image.
- Review any recognized metadata categories.
- Choose a format, size and export quality, then clean the image.
- Compare the result and download the new copy while retaining your original.
This is not a C2PA signature validator, an exhaustive provenance scanner or a guarantee that every credential format is handled. Re-encoding can change pixels, compression and color, even when the output looks similar.
PDF and video: do not assume the same coverage
The PDF cleaner targets standard document properties and document-level XMP. It does not claim to locate or remove every PDF provenance structure, attachment or embedded object.
The video cleaner targets supported container tags and chapters. A clean export or an empty metadata preview is not proof that all C2PA data has been removed. Codec, container and browser limitations can affect results.
What this tool does not remove
- Visible logos, captions or watermark overlays.
- Invisible pixel-domain or audio watermarks.
- External copies of credentials or a file's publication history.
- AI-content labels assigned independently by another platform.
Keep provenance when it matters
Content Credentials can help recipients understand editing history. Keep your original and its credentials when authenticity, attribution or a recipient's requirements matter. Metadata cleaning should not be used as evidence that a file is human-created.
Common questions
Does removing C2PA guarantee removal of an AI label?
No. Embedded metadata is only one possible signal. This website cannot control another service's classification or disclosure rules.
Is this a SynthID remover?
No. The website does not offer invisible pixel- or audio-watermark removal. Its supported metadata operations should not be described as removing every AI signal.
How should I verify a result?
Inspect the downloaded file with tools that support its specific format, and separately review its visible or audible content. A general metadata list is not equivalent to C2PA signature validation or watermark detection.
